It’s been a long while since my last performance video, so I’m kicking off the Rock Band 2 era with one of my new favorite on disc songs, Our Truth by Lacuna Coil.
I switched up my intro logo and went with a different filming style this time. I recorded the video of myself on my LG Dare, the in game video on my gamebridge, and the audio on my external mic.
I still want to do a little summary video of everything that has gone on in the past few months, so look for that sometime soon I hope.

LOVE this song – always one of my favorite SoaD songs, so of course it was a joy to see it in Rock Band 2.

It’s a pretty easy guitar FC (although, I did choke quite a few times before finally FCing it)!

Given the history of Rock Band for Wii being flimsy and having limited features, will Rock Band 2 for the Wii have the ability to import Rock Band 1 songs for $5 like the other consoles?

To tell you the truth, I have no idea.

Personally I am so totally waiting on more info on the game (like reviews, etc.) because I need to know more before I buy.

I want to know if there’s:
Online
DLC (downloadable content)
Character Creation
etc.

Basically, I want to know if I’m getting what all of the other consoles are getting.

They better be able to do that, but if they don’t… I still want a Rock Band 2 drum set (it has a reinforced steel plate on the pedal! My pedal broke, =(

I’ve been told that many if not all the songs from Rock Band (including downloadable songs) will be playable on Rock Band 2.

You pay a 1 time fee of ~$4.99 and you export all (except 3) of the songs to your hard drive. Once you do that, you should be able to delete any that you do not want from in-game.

This chart can die in a fire. The strumming seems benign but with ho/po notes mixed in and variable BPM, it’s very easy to over/understrum or miscount and mis-fret. It took me around an hour of restarts to get this and I wasn’t stopping until I did. The 3rd activation was way late, of course, since I’m very unlikely to waste any more time going for a re-FC any time soon.

I had a bear of time with the 3rd strummy section, having constant overstrums about halfway through. What made it click for me was making sure I was downstrumming on the beat lines during G streaks and carefully counting every other color to switch frets at the right time.

Oh, and I choked in the solo twice. It’s a miracle that I had the restraint not to destroy my Les Paul and/or anything else within reach.

A new advert seen on TV here in the UK for the new Xbox 360 prices, and the upcoming release of Rock Band 2. Harmonix haven’t mentioned a release date at all yet, but in this ad from 0:16 to 0:20, it says “Rock Band 2 out November”. Looks like we might not have to wait as long as we did for the first one!
