Will the PS3 Rock Band 2 game work with the Band Hero instruments?
I am limited on space and don’t want to buy both sets – Band Hero has songs that my kids will enjoy more, but Rock Band has songs my husband would like. Can I just buy the Band Hero kit and the Rock Band 2 game? Will other Guitar Hero or Rock Band discs work with the Band Hero kit? How is the quality of the instruments with Band Hero vs Rock Band 2?

Yes, Everything is compatible with each other. If you get the Set and then any other game that requires a guitar, microphone, or drums it will work. This is because these are just accessories and work with everything, you could even play with a PS3 controller if you really wanted to.

All instruments (excluding RB2 and RB to GH3) are cross compatable. Rock Band is probably better quality. I bought GH instruments (same as band hero) and drums broke withing 2 days and guitar in a month. Had RB instruments for 6 months and the only thing that’s broken in the foot pedal for the drums (which i think I stomp on too hard).

you shouldn’t use rock band guitar for gh.it doesn’t feel right
and yes Rock Band instruments are compatible with Band Hero
