REALLY fun, somewhat challenging and short song, one of my favorites from the small selection of Audition-ready songs I have.

This took seven tries total, six of which i did in a row today, haha

Expect way more Audition/Rock Band Network songs in upcoming videos, as the majority of them are really fun/difficult. Most of them don’t have Overdrive charted either, so even with an FC i didn’t gold this.

Rock Band videos again!

This video’s a few months old (hence the Pad Noise solos still being in it): the main reason I never put this video up when I originally shot it was that I wasn’t really that satisfied by the performance, as in, it wasn’t an FC, and I know I can FC it.

However, due to upcoming college as well as preparing a few other types of videos (which you’ll see eventually), I don’t have time to make RB videos for the next few weeks, which is why i’m putting up these older videos, even if they’re not my best stuff.

Clouds over California is one of the songs in Rock Band I actually like musically, which isn’t something that happens too often (I just don’t like most of the music in Rock Band, I guess).

Vocals on it are especially fun, haha.

Once I start making RB videos again, expect a lot of RB2 disc songs, the Mayhem Pack, and so forth.

About halfway through the video my external camera freaks out: this is because this video was shot using a mini-DVD camcorder, which is VERY weak against vibrations (the kind caused by say, my foot slamming into the metal pedal taped down to a all-tile floor). I’ve actually lost MANY runs due to this, including a much better Good Mourning/Black Friday run that I shot on the same day as the video i’ve got up now.

This is me and Danny (GuitarHeroPhenom) playing band quickplay on Visions, Expert Guitar/Drums.

Danny came down with Jack and Scotty and visited me a month or so ago: we tried to make a ton of videos, but one large issue hampered us.

I normally play on -20/-25 lag settings, which, when Danny tried to play on it, it pretty much made him miss nearly everything. So, we altered the lag settings to a point where he and I could play decently, but still not to our full potential: it was better than having one of us almost fail out of a song while the other was fine, though.

I know a lot of you are going to ask about the recent Mayhem Pack: I downloaded it and played it on my GH:WT kit and pedal, one foot/one pedal (as I didn’t have access to my RB kit) and passed every song in the pack first try except for the Black Dahlia song, so you can expect videos from me for every song in the pack. =)

Something else too: this video debuts a beta version of my new intro for my videos. The next video I put up will actually have sound to play with the intro, instead of it just being silent.

Also, I had a contest recently (it wasn’t on YouTube): so for the next few videos i’ll be linking the accounts/websites of people who won the contest.

A while back I uploaded a video like this of me doing Green Grass and High Tides: got taken down though.

So, here’s a new sort of “Guitar Solos” video, with four songs, done in “Keyboard Mode”, which is just what i call laying the guitar on your lap and playing the solo buttons as if they were a piano/keyboard.

I don’t actually play piano/keyboard in real life, but I did play a game called Beatmania on and off (the 5-key variant) since 1999, as well as years of Stepmania and it’s predcessors since around 2000, so that definitely helps here.

Well, I still didn’t get the GoodWoods version 2 video done yet.

On the brightside, I put this up, which is a video I shot months ago and i’d been holding out putting up because i was waiting for the codec problem to get fixed on my videos.

On my last video, someone (I think kknyrass) said the codec problem WAS fixed, so I uploaded a video in the old format (.mov) and it looks like he was right: the laggy framerate problem’s gone.

Also, those of you always telling me to put up a harder song: this song’s only been FC’ed by 4 people, counting me, as of the posting of this video. Angels, Gohoog, LAMF, and myself are the only people (according to scorehero) to have FC’ed this across all systems and both RB1/2. So yeah, i’d consider this hard.

As for the song itself, it’s basically E-Pro from the RB2 setlist on steroids (thanks to all the left hand + bass pedal hits) combined with Outside from RB1, plus a slightly annoying fill that’s shown during the Pad Noise Solo (the BBY+Bass).

Fun song though, for sure, and a classic, I remember hearing this a lot as a kid.

So, i’m all out of RB buffer videos, meaning that all the videos I shot in December 08′ and Feb. 09′ are now posted.

This also means that now I have to start making new RB/GH videos, and that means i’m going to have to put up a few more filler videos of other stuff in the meantime.

However, in the next few days, i’ll be posting a video talking about some big, big news that’s going to change a lot around here in terms of how I post videos and organizing them to make for easier viewing.

Also, it seems like the codec problems are back or something, unfortunately.

As for the song itself, kinda repetitive, not really that hard, has one weird part near the end though that I did one-hand on (with the snares/red notes).

Oh, and another note: this will probably be the last video with pad noise solos, ever. Why? Because the new goodwoods will malfunction if I put tape on them, meaning they’re going to be completely silent, and thus the pad noise wouldn’t show up.
