.I am going to buy World Tour but i want to get Rock Band 2 also, but i cant find Rock Band 2 with a guitar which leads me to the question of being able to use the guitar hero guitar for rock band.

Yes all guitars are compatible as long as made for Xbox 360, I play my rock band guitar on gh world tour and 5, and vica versa .At the moment Microsoft its doing a patch for the lips mic to work with guitar hero and rock band but at the moment you can only use th light up pretty ones with lips itself

i have a Playstation 2, Guitar Hero world tour, and Rock Band 2. I have the Guitar Hero drum set, but when i try to play it with rock band 2, it dosent seem to work. i know its a not a problem with the hardware because all is new, do i need to buy accessories to make it work?
Idk but I have a ps3 and was having the same problem. I had to update rockband2… Then it worked but you have a ps2 so idk how an updating process would work

I have Rock Band 2, but looking to buy the new Metallica Guitar Hero. Just hoping that I don't have to buy all of the instruments. I heard the drums were not compatible but the guitars were. Does anyone know for sure?
What system do you have?
I have a Xbox 360 and RB1 and RB2. I don't have the new RB2 guitars, but they are the same as the ones for RB1. I have both versions of the drums. The RB2 drums do work with GH:WT (they just consolidate the two cymbal tracks in GH into just one with RB drums), as do the guitars. I played the game last week.

You see Rock Band 2 drums got 4 pads, Red Yellow Blue Green. But guitar hero wt has Orange, so how will you hit orange when its not in the drums set?
Also, can you use the controllers to play in RockBand 2 (instead of the instrument)?

I have no other knowledge of other drums sets for rock band except maybe the Guitar Hero World Tour drumset. That's what i use for rock band.
We have A wii and I want to get this for my teens this Christmas becasue they have been awsome and their grades are much better that last year. I don't normally buy them things, but I really want this for them.

go with either Rock Band 2 or Guitar Hero World Tour. Both of them use guitar, drums, and microphone. The main difference is just the song list.
