UPDATE V2 “Techniques used”:
To start off, Double Strokes are pretty much manditory (or at least for me anyways). Especially at around 3:35. Also, with the blast (Gtr Solo) section), Pick up Derek Roddy’s “Evolution of Blast Beats” book. That’ll explain alot.

I still am sitting here like “how the did I do this?”. To start, there’s no hands view ’cause I was only capturing screen to review for later on to see what errors I’ve made. This is about the um-teenth time playing this song and well, I wasn’t expecting to FC this. This is the first ever FC of this ong documented. It also put me in 1st place witha 5 gold star run.I’m sure I could have broken 400k if I had used the OD better, but I’m not bitchin’.

My lag settings are as follows:
Audio: 30
Video: 0
Dlby Digital: No.
Progressive Scan: On

I was using the World Tou kit so I could have double bass. Yes I used double bass.

Will I be able to do this again? MAYBE,

I use a Goodwood Mods drum kit.

I was almost ready to jump up in excitement when I pulled off 100% on the first solo. I’m not really sure how I pulled it off, but I’m glad I filmed it. Definitely a huge improvement from my last video. My score would have been so much higher, if I had stopped making a lot of stupid mistakes throughout the song.

So I finally have them, my long awaited Ions. They are way better than stock Rock Band drums by far. Once I got used to them they have been improving my scores. I plan on buying a third cymbal soon, so I can get the full Ion experience.

For now, I have them set up fairly similar to the Rock Band drums. But I’m consistently fiddling with them so the setup may change occasionally.

Being the Ions are much larger, and I have little room to work with for camera angles, I had to make the chart smaller so it didn’t block too much of the drums. If you watch it in HD, it will be easier to see, and obviously higher quality.

The audio is a little shaky in this video. My capture device was being stupid. So the audio switches channels every now and then.

The song at the beginning is “Disloyal Order Of Water Buffaloes” by Fall Out Boy.

Tired of your rock band drum kit making entirely too much noise while playing? This is a HOW TO DIY and demo of my rock band drum silencers. I will show you them in action and provide a description of how to silence your drums for 7.00$. I play the drums fairly hard, and it doesn’t end the sound completely but it reduces noise around 80%. In the demo I played “And Justice for All” by Metallica on EXPERT. 99% with 5 stars/ 755 note streak/ scoring 376,100 which ranked me at 344 on the leaderboards.

1. Go to a michael’s craft store (or another craft store) and go to the arts and crafts section.

2. Look for the sheets of foam and felt, find a packet of PEEL AND STICK FOAM. The one I found even had the appropriate colors for the drum kit (white and black also/ 2 sheets of foam per color) in one packet which was 7$.

3. Go home and see if you have a pot or a plate or anything round really that is the exact width of the INTERIOR of the drum.(7 inches)

4. Once you have the stencil, trace the drum outline on the peel of part of the foam. (try to keep the trace to one side of the foam so you can make smaller ones with the remaining foam, they do wear with time as well and you can use the remaining foam to replace worn out silencers)

5. Then find another circular object which is smaller like a large glass or small bowl and trace another circle on the remaining foam.

6. Meticulously cut each circle out on the inside of the line. Once you have the larger circle cut, test the size of the larger circle to ensure it fits properly.

7. Peel the backing off of the smaller circle and place it directly in the center of the larger foam circle.

8. Peel the backing off of the larger circle and place it on the drum head.

9. Once you have the first one in correctly, repeat the process for the other three drum heads.

* I am on my second set of silencers because they do become more noisy once the foam has been hit so many times. But the nice part about the peel and stick foam is that it comes right up with no issue causing no harm to your drum kit; and you can subsequently repeat this process again after extended use.

* I am in now way responsible if you get different foam or screw up your drum kit in ANY WAY.

EDIT * The “double bass pedal port” is NOT for double bass in RB1 or RB2, its still a mystery. (perhaps its where you plug in a cymbal expansion to make it GH:WT compatible)

**READ FIRST**
This is a demonstration of the new Rock Band 2 drums. It shows how quiet they are, the sensitivity, and the way the components are built.

F.A.Q answered:
-Rock Band 1 and 2 drums work with both Rock Bands
-Cymbals will be sold at a later date, 3-pack $30
-Bundle with instruments and game comes out late October for all systems.
-PS3 version comes out October, Xbox 360 is out now.

**The sound isn’t working for the first 40 seconds, but it works after that. I show how the newer pads are made of a foam-like material with a sort of “gel” center piece (kind of like gel shoe inserts). There’s a sync button and the headset port on the bottom, and it takes 3 AA batteries. The bass pedal is the same as the first set, but it has a metal plate screwed into the top, making it feel much more sturdy. I start to talk about how the frames are exactly the same except for the base poles, and then you’re able to hear me.

As far as the other pads activating, many people stated this is a problem with Rock Band 1 detecting the hardware, and it shouldn’t be a problem in Rock Band 2, and I’ll update the info on that once I pick up a copy.
UPDATE:I tested this with Rock Band 2 and it still is having some crosstalk, but it takes more force to cause it to set off two pads at once.

Once again, if anyone wants any other videos on the drums, let me know and I might make one.
